By Shujji Shah
Synopsis:
This book has plenty to offer, including explanations of everything from money management to fundamental analysis. However, $1,000 per day is a tough ask – and it’s not something that is necessarily achievable even over the long term. For that reason, this book is best read from the perspective of a critical outsider looking to evaluate the information and extract only accurate and relevant insights.
Review:
Lots of different areas are covered in Shah’s work, which makes it handy for those who need a primer. It starts with a look at what foreign exchange trading actually is, but it quickly moves into the world of trading techniques. This book manages to shift quickly and adeptly from everything from technical and fundamental analysis to top strategies specifically designed for beginners.
By devoting a chapter at the end to money management, Shah realizes that a major part of forex success lies not in the specific strategies used but in the mentality of the trader – which is a good lesson for traders to learn no matter what stage of their career they’re at.
But it’s always important to be aware of false promises, especially in the forex trading world. This book focuses in part on the lifestyle aspect of forex trading, such as freedom – and while it’s true that some forex traders have this, not all of them do. And even for those who do manage to achieve it, or earn $1,000 a day as the title promises, it still takes a lot of hard work and dedication. As a result, it’s worth keeping an open mind when reading this book – especially if this is your first introduction to the forex trading world.
